Motherwell football club was created in May 1886 from Glencairn FC and Alpha FC, amateur clubs based in Motherwell, the club then joined the Scottish professional ranks in 1893. Motherwell play their home games in the 13,742 capacity Fir Park, Motherwell.
The club are nicknamed 'Well', 'The Steelman' and 'The Dossers' and they were originated in May 1886.
