Jesus Navas Gonzalez referred to as Jesus Navas is a Spanish midfielder who plays club football for English club Manchester City and national football for Spain. Born in Los Palacios, Spain he began his career at Sevilla where he made his career debut in 2003 for the B side before stepping up to the first team in 2004.
Jesus Navas suffers from chronic homesickness where in the past he has walked out on trainings to far from Seville, his home city. The winger officially signed for Manchester City in 2013 which indicated he had rid himself of the condition. The transfer was worth Ãƒâ€š£14.9 million and he said 'this is the right moment for me to take this step. I'm very happy with the opportunity and the decision.'
Jesus Navas made his international debut for Spain in November 2009 an he competed in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and 2012 UEFA Euro Championship in which his team were successful in both occasions. Navas netted his first goal against South Korea in June 2010 and he has become an important squad player for 'La Roja' in recent years. Jesus Navas won two UEFA Cups and Copa del Reys with Sevilla and in 2011 he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Order of Sporting Merit
