Alvaro Negredo is a Spanish footballer who plays for Valencia on loan from Manchester City and the Spanish national team. Born on the 20th of August 1985 Negredo began his club career at Rayo Vallecano playing for the B side in 2004 before moving to the first team a year later. He then signed for Real Madrid playing for their B side before moving to UD Almeria in 2007 where he would stay for two years.
In 2009 Negredo signed for Sevilla for 5 million euros and this is the club where he made a name for himself scoring 85 goals in 180 matches for the Spanish side. Negredo helped Sevilla to win the 2009-10 Copa del Rey and they were runners-up in the 2010 Supercopa de Espana. In July 2013 Negredo signed for English club Manchester City for 20 million pounds and he rejoined with his Sevilla team mate Jesus Navas at the club. Negredo helped City win the 2013-14 Premier League and League Cup titles. In the summer of 2014 on deadline day Negredo sealed a season loan deal with Valencia.
Negredo has been a super sub for Spain in recent seasons and he was part of the squad which won the 2012 UEFA European Championship. He scored his first goal for Spain in October 2009 in a 2010 World Cup Qualifying match against Bosnia & Herzegovina.
