The Netherlands have commonly used black, blue or white for their away kits. Since 1996, Nike has been the national team’s technical kit sponsor. They began to wear alternate jerseys in 1974 when they had white shirts on top of their orange home. One of the most memorable Dutch moments in an away kit came in 2014 with a 5-1 win, catalysed by Robin Van Persie looping header goal against defending WC champions (and 2010 WC final tormentors) Spain. Together with the latest one for the Euro 2024, recent secondary strips of the Oranje are available to view here.

2024 Netherlands Away Shirt
The Netherlands 2024 Away was one of those alternate kit in blue. It had a geometric design featuring abstract placements of tonal rectangles. There were also those that appear in streaking orange lines. Orange fill on the sleeve cuffs and collar provided a more solid accent. Relative to the home, the kit had more visual activity, albeit one you can still call minimalist and simplistic.

Alternatively, the Netherlands participated in the 2022 World Cup with a dark blue Nike away shirt. Most of the design came from the black accents of the panels surrounded by the neckline and seams from the raglan sleeves and the top arched edge of the main body, as well as the sleeves’ underside, which in turn extended to the side of the torso. The narrow black sleeve cuffs both carried singular orange striping.
2020/21 Netherlands Away Shirt
The Netherlands 2020 away kit was minimalistic relative to its home counterpart as it fully shows the black base of the shirt and does not incorporate any graphics or designs. The black base, on the other hand, helped to emphasize the double orange linings on the edge of the polo collar, as well as the orange right swoosh and left lion emblem on the chest area. Completing the orange applications were the zap like vertical linings on the sides which run from the underarm down to the edge of the shirt.
