Numancia 2022/23 Kits

The club remained in the Tercera division until 1970 when the club decided to revert back to regional football in 1970 where they remained until 1978. The return to the Tercera division in 1979 did not reap instant rewards. However, they finally achieved promotion to the Segunda B league in 1989 after becoming champions of the 4th tier. They remained competitive but uninspiring in the league for several years until they made their mark on the country in 1995 with an epic cup run that saw three La Liga teams knocked out. They even took the lead against Barcelona in the quarter finals but were eventually defeated.

Club Deportivo Numancia are a Spanish football club who were founded in 1945. The team are named after the ancient Celtiberian town of Numantia and spent the majority of their early years playing in the bottom divisions. Their first professional season was in 1946/47 when they competed in the Tercera division (4th tier). After three seasons, they completed promotion to the Segunda B division in 1950. However, they only lasted two years before suffering relegation back to the 4th tier of Spanish football.

This run seemed to be the catalyst for Numancia as they were promoted to the Segunda division in 1997. They narrowly survived relegation in 1998 before remarkably finishing 3rd the following campaign to earn promotion to La Liga. The team's remarkable rise continued in 1999 as the team survived relegation with a 17th place finish. Nevertheless, the fairytale ended the following year as Numancia finished bottom and were relegated back to the second tier of Spanish football.

The club has since been promoted back to La Liga twice. However, they have been relegated immediately back to the Segunda league with 19th place finishes on both occasions.
