Oscar is a Brazilian midfielder who plays for Premier League side Chelsea. He began his professional career for Brazilian club Sao Paulo. He joined the club at age 13 where he made his debut aged 17 years old. After a contractual dispute with the club he joined Internacional in 2010. In July 2012 Oscar signed for English club Chelsea for £19.35 million.
He was injured during most of his first season at the club but in his second season he made 44 appearances scoring 13 goals and made 13 assists. He had been linked to Europe in 2012 where the likes of AC Milan and Barcelona were interested.
On the 16th of July 2012 he signed a £20-25M deal for Chelsea. He made his debut for the club in a Premier League match against Wigan Athletic. His first start for the club would be one to remember as he netted twice in three minutes in the UEFA Champions League group match against Juventus which ended in a 2-2 draw. In the summer of 2014 Oscar have his number eleven to Didier Drogba so he could switch to number eight previously worn by Frank Lampard.
Oscar was called up to the Brazilian squad in 2011 in he played in a 0-0 draw with Argentina. He scored his first international goal in a friendly against Argentina which ended in a 3-4 loss. He made three assists in an 8-0 win over China. Oscar was selected by Luiz Felipe Scolari to play in the 2014 World Cup for Brazil. Oscar ended up scoring two goals in the tournament.
