Rodrigo Palacio is an Argentine footballer who plays for Italian club Internazionale and the Argentina national team. Born on he 5th of February 1982 Palacio began his club career at Huracan in 2002 playing just one season at the club before moving to Banfield in 2003. Palacio spent two years at Banfield before moving to Boca Juniors in 2005. This is the club where he began to make a name for himself. He played a total of 184 matches scoring 83 goals for the Argentina club.
In July 2009 Palacio signed a four-year contract with Genoa in the Italian Serie A for Ã¢â€šÂ¬2.81 million. He was signed to replace Diego Milito and help out his fellow Argentine Hernan Crespo up front. On 22 May 2012, Genoa President Enrico Preziosi confirmed that Palacio would become an Internazionale player for the 2012Ã¢â‚¬â€œ13 season. He was officially sold to Inter for Ã¢â€šÂ¬10.5 million, signing a three-year contract. Palacio debuted in a UEFA Europa League qualification match against Croatian side Hajduk Split and Palacio scored his first Inter double in a friendly against CA Bizertin of Tunisia on 18 August.
Making his Argentina debut in 2005 Palacio has predominantly been a bench warmer for the likes of Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain. His first goal for Argentina came in 2008.
