C.A. Penarol are a Uruguayan football club based in the city of Montevideo and they play their home matches wearing yellow and black striped home shirts which are manufactured by German brand Puma. Peñarol holds the record for the most professional Uruguayan Primera División championships, with 37 trophies and in international competition, Peñarol is the club with the third most Copa Libertadores, having won it five times.

Club Atletico Penarol better known just as Penarol is a football team from Montevideo, Uruguay. It was founded in 1891. Penarol play their home games in the 65,000 capacity Estadio Centenario in Montevideo Uruguay.

For home games Penarol wear a strip of yellow and black striped shirts, the saying goes these colours originate from railway signs as the club was founded by railway workers. Penarol has won the Uruguayan league on numerous occasions with the most recent success coming in 2002, they also won 5 Copa Libertadores, most recently in 1987, and they have 3 World Club Championships to their name.

In Uruguayan football, Peñarol and Nacional split the country in two. It is thought that the institutions are quite even in the matter, and lead the numbers on the amount of fans in Uruguay.
