Patrice Evra is a French wing back who plays for Juventus and the France national football team. A career which has seen him play in midfield and up front Evra has evolved into one of the world's best left backs and his Premier League player shirt was one of the most popular in recent seasons.
Patrice Evra emigrated to France at the age of 6 years from Senegal. Interesting is the fact that Evra was a friend of Barcelona striker Thierry Henry in his childhood. In his early years he played for Marsala (Italy) and Monza (Italy) before being transferred to OGC Nice in 2000. Here he scored a goal in 40 appearances for the team. He was signed by Ligue 1 club Monaco in 2002 where he spent four seasons, scoring a goal in 120 appearances.
After catching the eye of Man Utd's scouts, Evra was signed for 5.5 million pounds to strengthen the Red Devils defensive department. Patrice took a while to adapt to the style of the Premier League, which could be noticed clearly by everybody in his unimpressive debut match against Manchester City (Man Utd lost 3-1). It was thanks to Sir Alex and the Man Utd coaching staff that Evra was converted to the player that we see today: a supremacy at left-back. After the 2014 World Cup Evra left Manchester United for Juventus.
Making his senior debut for France in 2004, Evra established himself as the number one left back for France after Abidal's retirement from international football. Evra played for France for the Euro 2008 and 2012 as well as the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
