Pique 2022 World Cup Spain Kits
Gerard Pique is a central defender who is currently playing for FC Barcelona in La Liga. The player spent the entirety of his youth career in the Catalan giants. However, in 2004 he decided to leave Spain to join Manchester United. As he was under 18, United were not required to pay a fee for the defender. He made his debut for the club in October 2004 as a late substitute in the 3-0 League Cup victory over Crewe Alexandra. His full debut arrived two years later in March 2006 at right back against West Ham United. His performances in the reserve team earned him a new contract as United declared him as one for the future.

In August 2006, Pique joined Real Zaragoza on loan for the season in order to get some valuable first team action. The spell proved successful as he played 22 times alongside Gabriel Milito either in defence or as a holding midfielder. Upon his return to Old Trafford, Pique began to slowly impact on the first team with a goal on his first Champions League start against Dynamo Kiev in November 2007. Nevertheless, in the summer of 2008, Pique decided to resign for Barcelona for an undisclosed fee. He expressed his joy at resigning for his boyhood club but admitted that he enjoyed his time at United. During his career in England, Pique only made 12 league appearances but undoubtedly would have appeared more frequently in the future.
The 2008/09 campaign was hugely successful for Pique as he established himself in the Barcelona first team during their historic treble winning season. This was made all the more sweeter by the club's victory against United in the Champions League final.
His domestic success has also seen him called up to the Spain squad in the last year. The player was called up for his first cap in February 2009 to face England. He has gone on to make 12 more appearances to date and has also netted an impressive four time. Pique is also likely to be a member of the Spain squad that travels to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
