Port Vale play in League One where they were promoted from League Town in the 2012-13 season. Port Vale are an English association football club who were formed in 1876 and joined the football league in 1919. Vale play their home games at 20,000 capacity all seater Vale Park in Burslem, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. Like Arsenal, they are one of only two professional clubs in England not to be named after a place, though they originally took the name Burslem Port Vale, just as Arsenal were originally Woolwich Arsenal.
