Port Vale are an English association football club who were formed in 1876 and joined the football league in 1919. Vale play their home games at 20,000 capacity all seater Vale Park in Burslem, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. Like Arsenal, they are one of only two professional clubs in England not to be named after a place, though they originally took the name Burslem Port Vale, just as Arsenal were originally Woolwich Arsenal.

Port Vale play their home games in white shirts with a black sleeve and yellow edging, black shorts and white socks. A couple of famous names have donned the colours of the club, Billy Bingham who ended his playing career at the Vale Park in the mid 1960's and goalie Neville Southall who made just 9 appearances in 1983 between his two spells at Everton.
Port Vale have had several different home kits in their history including a red home, yellow and black, red and white and claret and sky blue. Born in Stoke-on-Trent Robbie Williams is their most famous supporter.
Port Vale play in League One where they were promoted from League Town in the 2012-13 season. Nicknamed 'The Valiants', Port Vale wear white home shirts with black shorts and socks which are supplied by Sondico who have produced their shirts for over two seasons. The club play a heated rivalry against Stoke City and they play their home games at Vale Park which holds over 19,000 people.
