Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are pooled in Group A of the 2015/16 Champions League group stage with FC Shakhtar Donetsk, Malmö FF, and Real Madrid CF. PSG have been issued a simple yet stylish black third strip to be worn in Europe, whilst a traditional royal blue and red jersey will be worn at the Parc des Princes.
Yet to win a European Cup/Champions League title, French club Paris Saint-Germain have been one of the most dominant French sides on the European stage. Nike issued PSG with a bright red third kit for use in Champions League away ties, whilst the club's standard dark blue, white and red home shirt was seen in home matches. Paris Saint-Germain played in Group F of the 2014-15 Champions League group stage with Barcelona, Ajax and APOEL. With a showcase of high profile stars, PSG finished narrow runners up to Barcelona in the group stage and were rewarded with a round of 16 tie against Premier League club Chelsea of whom they managed to overcome in a close-fought encounter both home and away through a late goal in the second leg after extra time by club captain Thiago Silva. Progressing to the Quarter-finals would see a draw against Barcelona which PSG managed to overcome 3-2 in the earlier group stage however the Spanish club would ensure the same mistake wouldn’t happen again with an emphatic 5-1 win on aggregate which knocked the French champions out of the competition.
Pooled in Group D of the 2013-14 Champions League group stage, PSG topped their group containing Olympiacos, Benfica and Anderlecht. They went to beat Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 16 before losing to Chelsea in the quarter-finals.
