Quilmes whose full name is Quilmes Atletico Club is one of the oldest football teams in Argentina having been founded in 1887. They play their home games in the 30,200 seater Estadio Centenario or the Dr. Jose Luis Meiszner Stadium, Vicente Lopez and Esquiu, Quilmes, Argentina.
Quilmes play their home games in all white strip with the away being all blue. The kit currently appears in the Argentine Primera Division.
The origins of the club can be found at the 'Quilmes and Polo Club', an institution founded by British immigrants about 1880. In 1887 the club changed its name to 'Quilmes Rovers Athletic Club' with a football team formed entirely by British people. That team took part in the second edition of Argentine Primera División championship held in 1893.
Other sports practised at the club are basketball, gymnastics, martial arts, roller skating, swimming, field hockey and tennis.
