Marco Reus is a German footballer who plays as a forward for Borussia Dortmund and the German national team. Born in Dortmund, West Germany Reus began his professional career at Rot Weiss Ahlen in 2007 then Borussia Monchengladbach in 2009 where he began to make a name for himself as he won the 2012 Footballer of the Year in Germany.
In 2012 Reus re-signed for Borussia Dortmund who he played with as a youth player for 17.1 million euros in a five year deal. Reus was a pivotal player in the club's 2012/13 Champions League campaign as they reached the final where they played German giants Bayern Munich. Reus put in a man of the match performance against Real Madrid in their 4-1 demolition of the Spanish giants.
Reus made his senior debut for Germany in October 2011 against Turkey and he scored his first goal against Switzerland in a 5-3 friendly win. Reus looks set to become one of Germany's greatest midfielders along with former team mate Mario Gotze.
