Born Robson de Souza on January 25th 1984 in Sao Vicente, Robson is best known as Robinho. He started his football career at Santos, in their youth programme, under legend Pele. By 2002 aged 18 Robinho has signed his first professional contract with Santos, in his first season he played 24 times and scored 9 times, to help his team win Campeonato Brasileiro. He now plays for Italian club AC Milan.
By 2005 Robinho has impressed in Brazil to such an extent that Santos could no longer hold onto the striker after offers from Europe. He moved to Real Madrid for 24 million Euros. In a career at the Bernabeu that would span 101 games, Robinho would score 25 goals. In the 2008 Summer transfer window Robinho would move on from Spain.
Robinho moved to Manchester City for a British record fee of £32.5 million after it had looked like he was set to join Chelsea as the window closed. Robinho was quoted as saying he wanted to join his friends Elano and Jo in a Manchester City shirt.
