Jack Christian Rodwell is an English midfielder who plays for Sunderland in the English Premier League and has already represented England at senior international level.
Born in Southport on the 11th March 1991, Rodwell was an Everton fan from the start. Joining at the age of seven Rodwell made his debut for the U-18 team at 14, and his first reserve appearance just one year later. Aged 16 he broke the record (at that time) for the youngest player to ever represent Everton in European competition when he came off the bench to face AZ from the Netherlands.
On 17 March 2008 Jack signed his first professional contract and was awarded a start later that year against Blackburn Rovers. 2009 bought with it Rodwell's first goal which came in a FA Cup tie against Aston Villa. Shortly after he put pen to paper and signed a 5 year contract with the Toffees. In August 2012 Rodwell signed for Manchester City for 12 million pounds and in the summer of 214 he signed for Sunderland after failing to impress at the Etihad.
Rodwell has represented England at U-17, U-19, & U-21 levels before pulling on the three lions shirt for the senior team in November 2011. His debut came in a win 1-0 against FIFA World Cup Champions at the time Spain.
