Ronaldinho is a Brazilian midfielder most notably known for winning the 2004 & 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year titles along with one World Cup and several La Liga, Serie A and Champions League titles. Ronaldinho shot onto the scene at the 2002 FIFA World Cup where he scored an impressive free kick against England's David Seaman in the quarter-final to win the match 2-1 and his player shirt was one of the most popular from 2003 to 2008. Ronaldinho now plays for Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro.
After being in Spain long enough to qualify he became a naturalised Spanish citizen in January 2007, this means that whichever European club he plays for can now play an additional non EU player, as Ronaldinho is no longer a non-eu player. He was the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2004 & 2005 and has also been European Footballer of the Year.d Player of the Year. Ronaldinho started his football career in the youth team at Gremio pressure from the clubs supporters forced him quickly into the first team.
After offers from around the world including the English Premier League, he moved to Paris Saint Germain in France signing a five-year contract. After impressing at the 2002 World Cup, Ronaldinho was clear that he wanted to move to a bigger club and play in European Cup competition (which PSG had not qualified for). So by July 2003, FC Barcelona had acquired Ronaldinho for £20 million.
Ronaldinho played at every football level, (u15, u17, u20, u23 and senior). His first appearance was against Scotland an u15 match in 1995, by 1999 he was in the senior squad.
