Bacary Sagna was born on the 14th of February 1983 in Sens, France. He began his footballing career at Auxerre in 2002. He played 37 matches scoring three goals for the B side before moving on to the first team. He played 89 matches for the first between 2004 and 2007. He played in the same Auxerre side which Abou Diaby and Younes Kaboul played.
In 2007 he joined the Gunners signing a deal worth 11 million euros. He made his debut for the club in July 2007 in a friendly against Turkish side Genclerbirligi. Since then he has cemented the right back position at the club as he has made over 150 league matches for the club. Sagna has been one of the most consistent right backs the club has ever had. In the summer of 2014 Sagna signed for Premier League side Manchester City where he was given the number three shirt.
Sagna played in the France U-21 side from 2004 to 2006. He made his senior debut in 2007 in a friendly match against Slovakia. He was part of the horror 2010 World Cup with France in South Africa when the country did not make it through to the knock-out stage.
He missed out on the UEFA EURO 2012 with a broken leg. Sagna has also cemented a right back role for France in previous years.
