Southampton is a Premier League football club who gained promotion to the Premier League from Championship for the 2012-13 season. Nicknamed the 'Saints', Southampton wear red and white striped shirts with black shorts and red and black hooped socks. After the club's adidas kit deal was cancelled, Southampton opted to produce their own kits for the 2014-15 season.
Southampton Football Club originally called St. Mary´s YMA was formed in November 1885, in 1898 the team moved into The Dell, the ground that was to be their home for over 100 years. However, as a result of poor stadium capacity and lack of space for development, the team moved to St Mary´s Stadium in 2001.

Southampton are nicknamed the Saints and play their home games in strip comprising shirts of red and white stripes. This kit has been worn by well known names in the game such as; Alan Ball who later went on to manage the club, James Beattie, Mick Channon who went on to a distinguished career training horses, fans favourite Matthew Le Tissier, Peter Osgood and Kevin Keegan.
The Saints returned to the Premier League for the 2012-13 season where they finished runners-up in the Championship.
