Sergio Ramos Garcia was born on the 30th of March 1986 in Camas, Spain. He began his career for the Sevilla B side where he played 26 league matches scoring two goals. He made his Sevilla senior debut in 2004 against Deportivo la Coruna in a 1-0 away loss. He played 39 matches for the club scoring two goals. Sergio Ramos has become one of the best Spanish defenders of all time for both club and country.
In 2005 he moved to Spanish giants Real Madrid for 27 million euros which was record for a Spanish teenager. He scored his first goal for the club in a Champions League match against Olympiacos in a 3-2 win. He has been used at Madrid as a centre back and occasionally right back. He has helped the club to win three La Liga titles and one Copa del Rey. He has played over 235 league matches for the club. In 2005 he was La Liga's Breakthrough Player of the Year and in 2008 he was named in the UEFA Team of the Year.
Sergio Ramos has played for Spain U-17, U-19 and U-21 youth levels and he made his senior debut in 2005 in a match against China in a 3-0 win. He was only 18 years old. He has become a legend for Spain as he has helped his country to win three major trophies the 2008 and 2012 UEFA EURO Championships and the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. He was named in the 2012 UEFA EURO Team of the Tournament.
