John Terry is an English centre back who plays for Chelsea and he is most notably known for being one of the greatest Chelsea players of all time. Terry began his Chelsea career in 1998 and he has helped the club to win several prestigious titles including three Premier Leagues, five FA Cups two League Cups and one UEFA Champions League. Terry has also been in several FIFPro World XI's and UEFA Team of the Years as well as two Chelsea Player of the Year awards.
John Terry was born on the 7th of December 1980 in Barking, East London. The current England and Chelsea captain plays as an orthodox centre back, who is known for his no nonsense defensive style, leadership and goal scoring exploits from set pieces. John started his football career as a schoolboy in West Ham United system, until spotted by Chelsea and joining their youth setup in 1997, he made his first team debut in October 1998 but went on loan to Nottingham Forest to gain move first team experience.
John Terry's first appearance in an England shirt was against Serbia & Montenegro in June 2003, he went on to represent his country at Euro 2004 and in Germany at the 2006 World Cup (he was voted into the squad of the tournament). After David Beckham's resignation as captain following that competition, the then new England boss Steve McClaren appointed Terry as his new national captain.
The 2004/05 Premier League season saw Terry's Chelsea side concede only 15 goal league goals a Premiership record, John also personally won the award of best defender in the UEFA Champions League tournament and the PFA's Player of the Year Award.
