Carlos Tevez was born on 5th February 1984 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, his full name is Carlos Alberto 'Carlitos' Tevez. The unusual scar from his ear to his chest is from being scolded by boiling water when a young child. Carlos started his professional career with Boca Juniors (2001-2004) winning trophies including the Copa Libertadores, the Argentine Championship, an Intercontinental Cup and the Copa Sudamericana.
December 2004 saw him move to Brazilian club Corinthians in a 20 million dollar deal, the biggest transfer in South American football history. Tevez went on to captain the 2005 Brazilian league winners. Thought of as one of the most promising young players in the world after the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, it was seen as a shock for him to move to En gland's West Ham United, when he had been widely expected to move to one of Europe's larger teams. At the 2004 Olympics Tevez had scored eight goals in six matches as Argentina won the gold medal and at the 2004 Copa America Carlos was in the Argentine team that finished runners-up.
After a long summer 2007 transfer saga regarding third-party player ownership, the situation was resolved and Carlos Tevez could finally join Man Utd. MSI, owned by Iranian businessman Kia Joorabchian who owns Tevez.s rights, paid £2 million to West Ham to release him from his contract. Man Utd then registered Tevez for a 2-year loan period, with an option of making the transfer permanent. Tevez then controversially moved to Manchester City in July 2009. He played four seasons at the club helping them to win the 2011-12 Premier League, 2001-11 FA Cup and 2012 Community Shield. Tevez moved to Juventus in June 2013 helping the side to win the 2013-14 Serie A title.
