The Togo national football team currently play in the CAF confederation and they wear an all yellow home kit manufactured by Puma. The club's best ever player is Emmanuel Adebayor who has played for several prestigious clubs around the globe including Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur. The club have qualified for just one FIFA World Cup and that was for the 2006 tournament in Germany.

Known to their fans as the Sparrow Hawks, Togo made their first appearance on the world stage at the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany. Before then Togo had failed even to get out of group stages of the African Nations Cup.

They played their first game against Ghana in 1956, drawing 1-1. The nation have had several managers in the past inclduing Didier Six, Stephen Keshi, Thierry Foger, Hubert Velud, Jean Thissen and many more.

The nation have played in seven Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and their best ever performance was reaching the quarter-finals in the 2013 tournament in South Africa.
