World champion Francesco Totti was born on the 27th September 1976 in Rome. He plays for Roma, a Serie A club. Totti is 1.80m tall. His favourite positions are striker and attacking midfielder. He can also play behind the main striker. He has wonderful free-kick and penalty taking abilities. Considered to be a loyal servant to the Roma club, he has spent his entire career (until now) at the club. He has scored the highest number of goals for Roma in the club's history and made the highest number of appearances for Roma.
At 31 years of age, he'd made 383 appearances for Roma in his number 10 shirt, scoring 161 goals. Totti had started his career with Roma in 1993 and went on to make 58 international appearances for Italy, starting his international career in 1998 in a EURO 2000 qualifying match against Switzerland.
Totti is married to Ilary Blasi and they have two children, Cristian and Chanel. He celebrates his goals by sucking his thumb, dedicating the goals to his children. When Ilary was pregnant, he even imitated a childbirth scene after scoring a goal by stuffing the ball under his shirt.
Totti's honours with Roma were the Serie A title in 2001, the Coppa Italia in 2007 and the Italian Super Cup in 2001 and 2007. With Italy, he won the World Cup 2006, played as Italy ended runners-up in Euro 2000 and won the European U21 Championship in 1996. Francesco Totti remains a respected figure in Italian and European football. He is still at a suitable age to continue playing and improving the fortunes of Roma. Unfortunately, he stopped his international career after the 2006 World Cup to focus on his club career.
