New USA 2020 Kits

The United States men's national soccer team played their first international match against Canada in 1885, however the game was not considered an official international so the first Official match was against Sweden in Stockholm, Sweden on the 20th August 1916 with the USA winning 3-2.

The stars and stripes best showing in the world cup was reaching the semi-finals in 1930.

The nation have been the CONCACAF champions on four occasions in 1991, 2002, 2005 and 2007 and their best ever position in the World Cup was in the semi-finals in the first ever World Cup in 1930.

The United States national team is one of the most dominant sides in the CONCACAF Confederation along with Mexico. The country wear red and white home shirts which are supplied by Nike and their most notable players include Clint Dempsey, Landon Donovan, Carlos Bocanegra, Michael Bradley, DaMarcus Beasley and Cobi Jones.

World Cup Kits

The United States have mostly used a white shirt with navy blue and red trim since their establishment as a football nation. White is the most commonly seen sock colour. Simplicity is the name of the game for the 2014 USA home shirt where it features a white display along with a hint of red trim on the collar and sleeve hems while blue is also seen on the Nike logo and back of the collar. Nike have given USA a classic collar while the back of the collar features a unique triangular star design representing the nation’s flag.

United States played in the first three World Cup competitions where the white shirt and shorts. Navy blue shorts first appeared in 1950 and in this tournament the U.S. had a navy blue sash across the front.

For the 1994 World Cup hosted in their own country they wore in a recognisable red and white striped effort as well as denim inspired away kit.

All white was back by 1998 and has remained ever since with a vertical stripe through the nation's crest in 2006 the biggest change. Throughout the nation's history they have used red and navy blue trim along with a white base.

The 1950 shirt for the U.S. was a memorable kit as it featured the unique navy blue sash which has adorned their football history. American brand Nike took over adidas in the mid 90's after they hosted the '94 World Cup and have remained kit suppliers for USA since.

The 1990 shirt featured a random display of stars across the front and left sleeve topped off with a blue base and red and white trim on the collar and sleeve hems, a truly memorable kit. Four years later a curvy striped red and white design matched the part as they nation hosted their first ever tournament.

Simple has been the way to go for the USA national football team's home shirts. Recent USA home shirts have been plain white with navy blue trim and red being the third colour.
