Valletta F.C. is a Maltese football club based in the capital city of Malta, Valletta. Valletta were founded in 1943 as a merge between Valletta Prestons and Valletta St.Paul's. Valletta play at Ta. Qali Stadium, Malta's National Stadium and currently are on their way to lift the Premier League trophy, currently being in the leading position in Malta's Premier League. Valletta are affectionately known as City, Lily Whites and tal-Palestin.
Velletta's nickname Lily Whites comes from their kit as they wear a white shirt and shorts. Their away kit consists of all red shirts and shorts with white sleeves.
Valletta's best season at the time was that in 1996-97 when they won all the cups they participated in, namely, the Premier League, Rothmans Trophy, Super Five Cup, Lowenbrau Cup and Super Cup. However furthermore, Valletta managed to break their own record in 2000/2001 where they managed to win six trophies in one season. They won all trophies won in 1996/97 plus the newly added Centenary Cup in which they beat rivals Floriana in the final.
Valletta started the year 2008 on a high by lifting the Betfair Cup, a friendly match between the Citizens and Juventus in which Valletta won on penalties. Valletta's roll of honours includes 18 Maltese Premier League titles, 11 Maltese Cups and 6 MFA Super Cups.
