Villarreal Club de Futbol SAD commonly known as Villarreal, were founded in 1923, they play their home games at the 23,000 all seater capacity El Madrigal Stadium in Vila-real, in the Spanish La Liga. It wasn't until 1998 that Villarreal were first promoted to Spain's top division, they only managed one season there though before falling back to the 2nd division. Villarreal FC are a Spanish football club based in the city of Villarreal and they their home games in an all yellow kit giving their nickname 'The Yellow Submarine'. After recently being relegated to the Spanish Segunda the gained automatic promotion back to the La Liga in their first season. The club's most historic year was in the 2007-08 season where they were runners-up to Real Madrid and beating Barcelona to second place by 10 points.
