Villarreal FC are a Spanish football club based in the city of Villarreal and they their home games in an all yellow kit giving their nickname 'The Yellow Submarine'. After recently being relegated to the Spanish Segunda the gained automatic promotion back to the La Liga in their first season. The club's most historic year was in the 2007-08 season where they were runners-up to Real Madrid and beating Barcelona to second place by 10 points.

2022/23 Villarreal Home Shirt

Villareal stuck with the traditional clean yellow look for its 2022/23 Joma home shirt. Distinguishing it from past Yellow Submarine shirts were the small navy lines detailing the edge of the narrow sleeve cuffs and the polo collar around the unbuttoned v-neckline.

2021/22 Villarreal Home Shirt

Villarreal's Joma home shirt for 2021/22 continues the club's tradition of sporting yellow as the primary colour. Aside from the clean yellow base, black provides a secondary colour accent in the narrow sleeve cuffs, logos, and the striped look of the front end of the collar.

2020/21 Villarreal Home Shirt

There's no denying the Yellow Submarine monicker of Villarreal as their home kit will feature that colour for the 2020-21 season. The home strip offers a clean look that highlights the all-yellow look from shirt to socks, with the logos the only elements applied on the kit. The Joma logos on the right chest and shoulders, as well as the PAMESA ceramica branding, are in navy blue. The Villareal crest on the left chest appears in full colours, with a small VCF navy blue lettering showing up at the back of the shirt below the neckline. The shirt has a vertically ribbed texture except for the wrapover cuffs and the overlapping v-neck.

2021/22 Villarreal Away Shirt

Villarreal's Joma away for 2021/22 is red with a black-toned, soundwave-like graphic that looks like a more pronounced version of the visuals found on the adidas Tiro 19. While the round collar and narrow sleeve cuffs have the same red base, they contain a singular white middle striping.

2020/21 Villarreal Away Shirt

The Joma 2020-21 away kit for Villarreal CF is a contrast to the home colours with its navy blue base and yellow accents. The Joma logos and sponsor brandings are the yellow applications on the shirt, with some appearing on the overlapping v-neck and the wrapover cuffs. The club crest on the left chest is fully coloured. Similar to the home shirt, the away kit has a small VCF lettering at the backside below the neckline, this time in yellow. Navy blue shorts and socks complete the Villarreal away strip.

Villarreal Club de Futbol SAD commonly known as Villarreal, were founded in 1923, they play their home games at the 23,000 all seater capacity El Madrigal Stadium in Vila-real, in the Spanish La Liga. It wasn't until 1998 that Villarreal were first promoted to Spain's top division, they only managed one season there though before falling back to the 2nd division. They bounced back at the first attempt and now Villarreal have secured top flight status and are impressing in European competition.

Qualifying for the 2003/04 UEFA Cup via the Intertoto, Villarreal reached the semis of the competition only to lose to local rivals and eventual winners of the Cup Valencia, further Spanish league success, meant qualification for UEFA's top competition, the Champions League.
