Danny Welbeck is an English footballer who plays for Premier League side Arsenal and the England national football team. Having begun his career at Manchester United Welbeck sealed a permanent deal with the Gunners in the summer of 2014 after the World Cup in Brazil. Welbeck opted to take the number 23 at the club which was previously worn by Nicklas Bendtner.

Danny Welbeck joined Manchester United during the 2005/06 season and he made his first appearance for the U18s in April 06. He made one further appearance that season before becoming a regular throughout 06/07 with 28 appearances and nine goals. Welbeck also contributed to United's run to the FA Youth Cup final despite being two years younger than the majority of players in the squad. The young forward signed his first trainee contract in July 2007 and he spent the large part of the 07/08 campaign in the Reserve team. However, some impressive outings saw him called up to the first team for their trip to Saudi Arabia for a testimonial match. He appeared as a substitute in this match but missed a penalty.
He made his competitive debut for the club in the League Cup third round match against Middlesbrough in September but failed to score. He then appeared in the fourth round where he won a penalty that eventually saw United win 1-0. Welbeck's Premier League debut finally arrived in November 2008 and he made an instant impact with a 30 yard goal in the 5-0 victory against Stoke. In the summer of 2014 Welbeck signed a permanent deal with Arsenal.
Welbeck made his debut for the U16s at the age of 14. After that, he progressed to the U17s where he scored two goals in the U17 World Cup. Welbeck has made 10 appearances for the U19 team scoring two goals in the process. Welbeck's first major tournament with England was at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
