2022/23 Wigan Athletic Home Shirt

Wigan Athletic Home 2022/23 KitWigan Athletic’s 2022/23 Puma home shirt gave a one-of-a-kind interpretation of its bespoke striped look in blue and white. Aside from having a gradient blue-to-white finish towards the topmost portion, the jersey coloured the stripes with a darker tone of blue and further designed them with inner pinstripes. The blue round collar and sleeve cuffs harmonised well with the shirt’s white sections, the sleeves and the area in-between the neckline and the chest.

2021/22 Wigan Athletic Home Shirt

Wigan Athletic Home 2021/22 KitWigan Athletic players wore a Puma home shirt for the 2021/22 season. It contained a relatively simple design of broad vertical stripes in blue and white, with complementary expansive shoulder panels in white and a blue rear-end for the round collar. The stripes here were a touch wider than the profile of the bespoke pattern on the previous season’s home shirt.

Wigan Athletic Away 2020/21 KitWigan Athletic’s 2020/21 away kit followed a similar template used by Puma with their home kit. Wigan Athletic, nicknamed the Latics were formed in 1932. They made it into the Football League in 1978 as Northern League Champions, but it took twenty five years to bust out of the lower leagues and two promotions in three years saw the team make it to the Premiership, were they made an impressive start to the debut season.

Much of this was made possible by the funding of the club by former Blackburn Rovers player, Dave Whelan, who broke his leg in the 1960 FA Cup final and the managerial skills of Paul Jewell and Roberto Martinez.

In the 2012/13 season, Wigan Athletic scored a huge upset and won the F.A. Cup against favourites Manchester City. However, they failed to avoid Premier League relegation, making them the first club to win the F.A. Cup and be relegated in the same season.
