Willian Borges da Silva is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Chelsea and Brazil. Born on the 9th of August 1988 Willian began his club career at Brazilian club Corinthians making his professional debut in 2006 wearing the number ten shirt. His first goal for the club came in a 2-2 draw against Atletico-PR in August 2007.
In August 2007 Willian signed for Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk signing a five year deal for €14 million. He made his debut for the club in a 2-1 league win against Chornomorets Odesa in September and his first goal for the club came against Arsenal Kyiv in a 4-1 win in the Ukrainian Cup. He then played his UEFA Champions League debut in a 3-0 loss to Italian giants AC Milan. The Brazilian went on to make over 200 matches for the club scoring over 30 goals.
In January 2013 Willian signed for Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala for €35 million and he chose to wear the number 88. The restructuring of the Russian club meant Willian needed to depart the club after just six months at the club. In August 2013 Willian signed for English club Chelsea signing for £30 million and he was given the number 22 shirt last worn by Ross Turnbull. In November 2011 Willian made his debut for Brazil in a friendly against CAF side Gabon.
