Burak Yilmaz is a Turkish forward who plays for Turkey and Galatasaray. In recent seasons Yilmaz has been one of the most prolific players in Europe as in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 season he netted over 70 goals.
Yilmaz began his club career at Turkish club Antalyaspor in 2002 before moving to Besiktas in 2006 and then Manisaspor in 2008. In June 2008 he signed for Fenerbahce and he was given the number seven shirt. Lacking any form he was loaned out to Eskisehirspor in 2009.
The striker lacked goals at the early end of his career and at Trabzonspor he made a name for himself where he scored 55 league goals in 75 matches which lead to his move to Galatasaray in 2012. In his first season at the club Yilmaz scored 32 goals in 39 matches helping his club to their 19th Turkish Super Lig title, the most of any Turkish club. The club also reached the 2012-13 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. The Turkish star has won several individual awards including the 2012-13 Super Lig Player of the Year and two Super Lig Top Scorer awards.
Yilmaz began playing for Turkey in 2006 where he scored his first goal for his nation against Belgium in June 2011. Yilmaz scored over 6 goals in 2013. Yilmaz has been linked with a big money move to the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal. Yilmaz holds the prestigious record of scoring eight goals in the 2012-13 UEFA Champions League, the most by any Turkish player.
